Club Activities

Updated: Feb. 17, 2007

A variety of outings are offered by the club, throughout the year, from winter snowshoe and cross-country ski trips to a wide range of climbs with varying difficulty in the spring, summer, and fall. Seminars on rock climbing, avalanche awareness, first aid, and more, are organized throughout the year. Club climbs are advertised and led by club members. They rarely exceed a moderate level of difficulty and basic climbing course graduates are encouraged to sign up.

For a calendar of current and upcoming events please see this month's edition of the Echo.

General Meetings

We hold a general meeting on the first Thursday of each month. Social time is between 6:30 - 7:00 PM with the actual meeting starting at 7:00 P.M. The GM is located in the 2-22 Blding (Boeing Cafeteria) on East Marginal Way, Seattle.

The purpose of the general meeting is to keep members informed of club activities. It also provides a forum for the exchange of ideas on an interesting subject -- climbing! We will inform you of the actions taken or being considered by the elected officers of the club. All actions requiring a vote of the membership will be considered at the general meeting.

The first 30 minutes of the meeting, is for socializing (food and drinks provided!). After the short business meeting beginning at 7:00 P.M., we will provide activities of an informative, entertaining, or social nature. We will have special guest speakers through the year who will show slides on various outdoor activities. Guest speakers will include well-known climbers, authors, photographers, etc.

Several monthly meetings are reserved for special annual events, which are always lots of fun. These are:

  • March Equipment Auction
  • June - August Bag-it Night presentations
  • July Picnic
  • September Election of Officers
  • October Annual Banquet
  • December Photo Contest
